    Lofa County Health team launches Human Papilloma Virus Campaign in Voinjama City

    Voinjama City, Lofa County-Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2025-The Lofa County Health team on Monday November 17, 2025 officially launched the Human Papilloma Virus Vaccine (HPV) Campaign in Voinjama city Lofa County.

    The (HPV) awareness launch brought together the Student community, stakeholders, marketers and youths organizations in Lofa County.

    Speaking at the official launch ceremony, Lofa County Health Officer Dr. Moses Ujoe Weidhgar said, the human Papilloma Virus Vaccine awareness starts November 17, 2025 and will continue until November 21, 2025 across the county.

    Dr. Weidehga said, HPV caused cervical cancer in Women and girls between the ages 13 to 18.

    He called on parents, youths and school going children between the ages 13 and 18 to take the vaccine because the virus, if not treated can result to death.

    The official launch of the Human Papilloma vaccine was done by Voinjama district Commissioner David Mawolo. Commissioner David Mawolo during the launch called on community members to take the vaccine without fear.

    “We are calling on all community young men and women to take this vaccine for good health as told by our health workers” Commissioner David Mawolo said.

    For their parts, Some School Administrators who attended the human Papilloma vaccine launch on Monday November 17 said, they will encourage students between the ages 13 to 18 years to take the vaccine in their respective Schools.

    The vaccine will be administered by Health workers on school campuses, public places, health centers, clinics and hospitals across Lofa County.
