Bopolu City, February 28, 2026 ~ Domafeign, in partnership with ActionAid Liberia, held a week-long training for peer educators on advocacy and human rights in Bopolu City, Gbarpolu County
The training was organized from February 24–28, 2026, aimed to equip participants with knowledge and skills to advocate for the rights and welfare of women and girls in their communities, with a focus on Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR).
During the opening session, Mr. Foxter Jenemana stressed the importance of the training and urged participants to become strong advocates for change.
Madam Willet L. Salue, Program Coordinator of ActionAid Liberia’s Just and Equal Communities Project, highlighted that empowering community structures, especially women, girls, and young people with knowledge, skills, and supportive spaces is a sustainable and transformative initiative that can create ripple effects of positive change in communities.
The training covered key topics, including Human and people’s rights, Transformative leadership, Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR).
Conflict resolution and Community engagement were also included in the training.
More than 75 rights holders from Bopolu, Bokomu, and Gbarma districts participated, representing various community structures such as Community-Based Organizations and Girls and Boys Forums.
The Just and Equal Communities (JEC) project, implemented by ActionAid Liberia through Domafeign, aims to advance comprehensive SRHR, women’s rights, and SGBV-related issues across five counties, including Gbarpolu.
The project seeks to foster a society where women and girls can live with dignity and equality.
Meanwhile, participants pledged to use their newfound knowledge to sustain advocacy for meaningful change in their communities.
They also commended Domafeign and ActionAid Liberia for the training and promised to roll out awareness campaigns in their districts.
Alfreda S. Kerkula of Bopolu District stated, “The training is timely, and I will make sure the awareness goes across the district.”
