Voinjama City, Lofa County |March 11,2026|The Inter School Sports Association (ISSA) in partnership with the Liberia Football Association (LFA) Lofa sub-division on Tuesday March 10, 2026 kickoff the Inter School Sports Association Grassroots U-15 tournament for children under 15 in elementary and junior high schools in and around Voinjama City.
According to the Chairman for (ISSA) Lofa County Mr. Anthony M. Krangar, the U-15 grassroots school tournament bring together about (16) Schools to participate in the competition and a single winner is expected to represent Lofa County at the next stage of the tournament.
Mr. Krangar said, the Inter School Sports Association Grassroots U-15 tournament is an effort of (ISSA) to decentralize sports at the grassroots level in all Schools and it is taking place in all 15 counties of Liberia in partnership with the Liberia Football Association LFA.
The 16 participating schools in Voinjama were selected from different schools in Lofa County who were willing to participate in the tournament.
Mr. Anthony M. Krangar disclosed that winner of the tournament will walk away with a cash price of $20,000 LRD plus a travel opportunity to go to other counties for the second stage of the tournament.
Under 15 students participating in tournament are fully identified by their respective school Administrators and their parents or caretakers.
The organizer of the tournament ensured School Administrators and parents that the match officials will play a neutral role during and after the tournament.
Meanwhile participating schools in the tournament also assured the organizer that the students will act accordingly and disciplinary measure will be enforced once the organizer is neutral.
This is the first time in more than a decade for the Inter School Sports Association to organize a grassroots U-15 School league or tournament in Lofa and Liberia at large.
The league is expected to last for four (4) days in Voinjama city.
For his part, Liberia Football Association LFA Lofa Sub-division chairman Mr. Amos Kpalia assured the organizer of support from the LFA to the people of Lofa County.
