Monrovia, Liberia |April 28, 2026|Liberia Telecommunications Authority Commissioner Angela Cassell-Bush is currently in the United States participating in an international Cybersecurity Leadership Training Program for women, the LTA announced Sunday.
The program is hosted by the United States Telecommunications Training Institute (USTTI) in partnership with the Global Cybersecurity Forum. Commissioner Cassell-Bush’s participation is fully sponsored by both institutions, highlighting their commitment to building global cybersecurity capacity and advancing women’s leadership in the sector.
Cassell-Bush oversees International Gateway Services (IGS) and Internet Governance at the LTA. She is among a select group of female leaders from around the world chosen for the high-level initiative, which aims to strengthen women’s roles in cybersecurity operations and policy.
The training convenes experts from government, industry, academia, and civil society. It delivers specialized instruction in cybersecurity operations, protection of critical information infrastructure, and leadership development.
The LTA said Cassell-Bush’s participation will bolster institutional capacity at the Authority and support national efforts to enhance cybersecurity resilience and safeguard Liberia’s digital ecosystem.
Participants are drawn from more than a dozen countries, including Liberia, Marshall Islands, Cambodia, Italy, United Kingdom, Jamaica, Bahamas, Georgia, Belize, Kenya, Uganda, and Nigeria. The program provides advanced technical training, exposure to global best practices, and high-level peer exchange.

Beyond technical skills, the initiative emphasizes knowledge transfer and leadership continuity. Participants are being equipped to mentor entry- to mid-level female professionals in cybersecurity and emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence.
Organizers expect the mentorship component to expand the pipeline of women in cybersecurity and AI, foster sustainable skills development, and strengthen professional networks across participating countries.
The LTA noted that Commissioner Cassell-Bush’s engagement aligns with Liberia’s push to secure its digital infrastructure and increase women’s representation in technology leadership.
