Lofa County, Voinjama City-December 16, 2024-The Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency in Lofa County over the weekend arrested a Sierra Leonean with a Kush and other harmful substances in FOYA statutory district.
According to LDEA Lofa County Commander, Special Agent Kpehe Lomax, the suspect Mohammed F. James was arrested at the Sardu check point between Liberia and Sierra Leone in FOYA district.
Commander Kpehe Lomax narrated that the suspect Mohammed F. James was traveling with the harmful substances from Sierra Leone to Liberia when he was arrested. The 30 year old suspect is a high school student.
The estimated street value of the Kush confiscated from him is more than $500 USD and the marijuana which is over hundred thousand Liberia Dollars.
He has been charged and sent to the 10th judicial circuit court in Voinjama City awaiting trial.
That said, Commander Kpehe has vowed to fight illegal drugs activities in the county and has called on citizens not to hesitate in contacting his team the moment they observe any strange activity regarding drug in their areas.
Lofa County is bordering two countries, Republic of Guinea and the Republic of Sierra Leone where some of the illegal activities are taking place.
Meanwhile, LDEA commander Kpehe Lomax is calling on the National Government to empower his team with logistics, including motorbikes or vehicles to enhance their work at the county level.
