Monrovia, Liberia-Friday, April 11, 2025-Restoring HOPE Foundation International, in collaboration with the Liberia National Police and the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency announced it will, under, ‘Say No To Drugs” host a day-long football tournament scheduled for April 19, 2025.

The event will take place on the Chugbor Field, Old Road outside Monrovia with the aims to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of drugs and other related substances among the youths in the area and beyond.

The tournament serves as a platform to engage young people in positive activities while promoting healthy lifestyles and the importance of staying drug-free. With the ongoing challenges posed by substance abuse in communities, this initiative is crucial in instilling a sense of responsibility and encouraging the younger generation to make informed decisions.

“We believe that sports can play a vital role in uniting people and promoting healthy choices,” said Mama V. Morris, the Secretary General of Restoring HOPE Foundation International. “Through this tournament, we aim not only to entertain but also to educate our young people about the risks associated with drug use and empower them to take a stand against it.” She lamented.

The event will feature several local teams competing for the championship title, with various community leaders, celebrities, and influencers, including the UN Women, UNICEF, Plan International, and the UNDP are expected to attend to show their support for this significant cause. There will also be educational booths and discussions about drug prevention and substance abuse recovery resources available for attendees.

The CEO, Amb. Maxson Kpakio is appreciating the Inspector General of the LNP, the Director General of the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency and the Union of Liberian Organizations in the United Kingdom for lending their support to the tournament in the quest of helping to say goodbye to substance abuse in Liberia.

Restoring HOPE Foundation International encourages all youths, families, and community members to join in this important event as they advocate for a brighter, drug-free future.

Restoring HOPE Foundation International is dedicated to inspiring and empowering individuals and communities through various outreach programs, including education, health awareness, and youth engagement initiatives.
