Both students and administration of the Bomi Junior High School have called on Senator Edwin Melvin Snowe to prioritize the renovation of their school.

They made the plead on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 during program marking the official presentation of the senator’s 2025 Annual Legislative Report held at the C. H. Dweh High School in Tubmanburg.

Representatives of the Bomi Junior High School reported the shortage of classrooms and teaching staff they believe are responsible for some of the challenges the school is facing

The school administration appealed to Senator Snowe for urgent intervention to restore effective teaching and learning activities at the school.

In addition to concerns raised by authorities of Bomi Junior High School, representatives of the disabled community and the Bomi Chapter of the National Civil Society Council of Liberia, Patricia Kamara and Moses Saah, appealed for slot at the ECOWAS parliament to allow local civil society organizations gain regional exposure and build international partnerships.

The disabled community further requested economic empowerment to continue to support their children in school. Both groups thanked the senator for accounting for his stewardship by reporting to his constituent members.

Following the requests, Senator Snowe pledged to engage members of the Bomi Legislative Caucus to ensure the renovation of Bomi Junior High School, and also committed personal resources toward the project.

He also promised to review the civil society request for an ECOWAS slot, and if possible, facilitate their participation alongside the already recognized Council of Chiefs.

Senator Snowe disclosed that his wife has agreed to sponsor the education of children from the disabled community in directly response to their appeal for empowerment.

Key highlights of the senator’s report were, community engagements and youth empowerment. According to him, 375 students benefited from his 1 million Liberian Dollars county-wide vacation jobs and skill exposure initiative. He also reported that he offered 100 scholarships to deserving students at the Bomi Community College.

Other highlights include, dedication of a multipurpose basketball and volleyball court at the C. H. Dewey Central High School and multipurpose town hall in Sackie Town, all funded through the legislative project, according to the senator’s annual report.

On the humanitarian front, Senator Snowe said he supported several community-based initiatives, including Tournaments, with a total contribution of LRD$480,000.

The county stakeholders through the Klay District Commissioner thanked Senator Snowe for delivering his 2025 Legislative Report, saying, as a leader you must be accountable to your people.
