Kolahun District, Lofa County-Bolahun Public High School has emerged victorious in both kickball and football, overcoming Kolahun Central High School, in the ongoing National High School Championship. The match was played on July 22, 2025 at the Kolahun District Sports Complex in Kolba City.
The highly anticipated kickball match featured a thrilling back-and-forth, with Bolahun Public School clinching victory with a score of 8 points against Kolahun Central High with 7. The game showcased remarkable skills from both teams, but Bolahun Public School finally secured a win.
The ensuing football match proved to be a serious contest as well, with both schools demonstrating strong defensive and offensive plays. Bolahun Public School took the lead in the first half with an impressive goal, only for Kolahun Central High School to rally in the second half, leveling the score 1-1 by the end of regular time. The match ended into a penalty shootout to determine the winner.
In a dramatic penalty shootout, Bolahun Public High School showcased their precision and composure, scoring all five of their penalties. Kolahun Central, however, faced challenges and missed two attempts. This decisive outcome sealed Bolahun’s victory, allowing them to progress to the next stage of the tournament.
With this remarkable achievement, Bolahun Public High School will now represent the Gbandi Chiefdom in the Region 1 Championship in Voinjama. The victory not only highlights the talent present in the Wanhassa District but also sets a precedent for future competitions.
