Sanniquellie, Nimba County |Dec. 15, 2025 |Bomi County’s hopes of advancing from Group B suffered a major setback on opening day after a bruising double defeat at the hands of Margibi County in both kickball and football at the newly dedicated Tomah Seh Floyd Stadium.
The capital city of Nimba was electrified as the tournament officially kicked off, with fans filling the stands to witness the first competitive action at the modern sports facility. But for Bomi County, the occasion turned sour as missed chances and defensive lapses proved costly.
Kickball: Margibi Dominates Early
In the kickball encounter, Margibi County delivered a disciplined and clinical performance, shutting out Bomi County two home runs to zero after five innings of play. Margibi’s composure in the field and timely batting left Bomi struggling to recover, placing immediate pressure on their qualification campaign.
Football: Penalty Miss Proves Costly
