    Empowering Communities: National Road Fund Takes a Giant Leap in Road Maintenance and Job Creation

    Monrovia, Liberia- August 19, 2025- On Monday, August 18, 2025, the National Road Fund (NRF) took a major step towards enhancing road maintenance and community engagement in Liberia.

    In a bid to strengthen road infrastructure and create job opportunities, the NRF handed over a fleet of 28 motorbikes, a pickup truck, and essential computer and printing equipment to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

    The NRF’s donation includes 28 motorbikes to facilitate movement and monitoring of road conditions, a pickup truck for logistics and transportation, computer and printing equipment for data collection, reporting, and program management.

    The donation according to a statement from the National Road Fund will support the launch of the CBO Road Monitoring Program, which aims to engage local communities in road maintenance and monitoring, Identify and address road issues promptly and create job opportunities for young people among others.

    Officials of both institutions with motorcycles plus other equipment during turning over ceremony at the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

    The program is expected to have a significant impact on communities, including improved road conditions, ensuring safer and more accessible roads, creation of approximately 1,500 job opportunities for young people as road monitors, community empowerment and participation in development initiatives.

    The Ministry of Internal Affairs will lead the program, working closely with local leaders and organizations to ensure effective implementation in order to trained community members who will be empowered to report road issues and perform small repair tasks, such as clearing drainage systems and brushing roadsides.

    This initiative is a testament to the NRF’s commitment to improving Liberia’s infrastructure and promoting community development.

    By empowering local communities and creating job opportunities, the program is poised to make a lasting impact on the country’s road network and economic landscape.
