Barclayville, Grand Kru County |January 9, 2026|The Grand Kru County Health Team, in collaboration with health partners and the Ministry of Health, has officially begun a massive Mpox vaccination campaign across the county aimed at preventing the spread of the virus and protecting public health.
According to a release from the Grand Kru County Health Team, the vaccination exercise commenced at the Barclayville Health Center, with priority given to health workers, key populations, and joint security personnel.

Health authorities in the County say the initial phase of the campaign is focused on frontline workers and high-risk groups who are more exposed due to the nature of their duties.
The approach, they noted, is intended to strengthen early protection, reduce potential transmission, and ensure the safety of both health professionals and the general population.
The Ministry of Health emphasized that the Mpox vaccination initiative forms part of broader national efforts to prevent outbreaks and enhance disease preparedness at the county level.
“Together, we continue to take proactive steps to prevent Mpox and protect our communities,” the Ministry stated.
County health officials have assured residents that the vaccination exercise will be extended to other parts of Grand Kru County as the campaign progresses, while encouraging public cooperation and adherence to preventive health measures.
