    Madrid, Spain |March 26, 2026| The Embassy of the Republic of Liberia near Paris, France, continues to play a pivotal role in advancing Liberia’s youth development agenda by facilitating a high-level engagement between Liberia’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Atty. Cornelia Wonkerleh Kruah, and the Real Madrid Foundation’s Managing Director Julio Gonzalez Ronco in Madrid, Spain.

    The meeting brought together Minister Kruah, His Excellency Dr. Teeko Tozay Yorlay Sr., Liberia’s Ambassador to France, Mr. Joseph Nyuma Boakai Jr., and Real Madrid Foundation’s Managing Director Julio Gonzalez Ronco, reflecting a coordinated diplomatic effort to strengthen Liberia’s global partnerships in support of youth empowerment.

    Organized through the proactive engagement of Mr. Joseph Boakai, Jr., the discussions underscore Liberia’s growing international outreach and commitment to leveraging sports diplomacy as a tool for national development.

    Mr. Boakai’s leadership in convening this dialogue highlights his ongoing mission to connect Liberian institutions with world-class organizations capable of delivering transformative opportunities for young people.

    Held at the Foundation’s headquarters, the engagement explored areas of mutual interest, including sports-based education, youth empowerment, and community development.

    While the discussions remain at an exploratory stage, the Liberian and Real Madrid Foundation sides expressed strong enthusiasm for continued dialogue and the development of a structured framework for cooperation.

    Minister Kruah reaffirmed the Government of Liberia’s commitment to harnessing the power of sport as a catalyst for social change, emphasizing the importance of partnerships that blend international expertise with Liberia’s local development priorities.

    The Real Madrid Foundation, internationally acclaimed for advancing education and social inclusion through sport, welcomed the initiative and signaled its openness to deepening engagement with Liberia.

    Building on this momentum, the Embassy of the Republic of Liberia near Paris will continue to facilitate consultations alongside the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mr. Boakai and key stakeholders, working diligently to translate this promising engagement into a sustainable partnership that delivers tangible benefits for Liberian youth.

    Meanwhile, observers are of the view that such strategic outreach cum engaging with the likes of Real Madrid FC, newly appointed Minister is truly on the right trajectory to unlocking gridlocks that will open ways several youth empowered opportunities as far as youth development in sports are concerned.
