Voinjama City, Lofa County-Wednesday, May 21, 2025- the Lofa County Health Team officially launched the Mpox vaccine in Voinjama city, and Lofa at large on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.
According to the Lofa County Health Team officer Dr. Moses Weidehga, the vaccines arrived in county and will primarily focused in two different which are bordering Sierra Leone and Guinea, that’s the district of Foya and Vahun districts.
During the official launch of the Mpox vaccine in the County, Superintendent J. Lavela Massaquoi took the first dose with several other local officers including two media personnel; J. Mason Kollie of the Rural Reporters Network and Tokpa Tarnue, ELBC Lofa County correspondent.

Moreover, 30 others including health workers at the Tellewoyan Memorial hospital also took the first dose of the vaccine as front fighters against the disease.
“We will extend the vaccine in Foya City, and Vahun because that’s the epic center” Dr. Moses Weidehga said in an interview.
Meanwhile, the County Health Team under the leadership of Dr. Weidehga has launched a vigorous sensitization and awareness campaign to educate the teeming public about the Mpox virus and how they can prevent themselves against this new raging disease.
