Monrovia, Liberia- Friday, September 19, 2025- The Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) recently held a crucial awareness session on real property tax with officials from the Ministry of Justice. This initiative according to the LRA aligns with the Presidential mandate requiring appointed public officials, directors, and mid-level managers to settle their real property tax obligations.
The training session focused on guiding officials through the registration, assessment, and payment processes for real property taxes, ensuring seamless compliance.
In order to facilitate easier compliance, the LRA has established One-Stop Shops at the Ministerial Complex and its Headquarters in Paynesville. These centers, the LRA says will serve taxpayers more efficiently, streamlining the tax payment process.
Assistant Commissioner Isaac Stevens emphasized that compliance and accountability are vital to building a stronger revenue system for Liberia’s development. This underscores the LRA’s commitment to transparency and accountability in tax administration.
The LRA’s real property tax expansion project aims to enhance revenue collection, increase revenue collection to support national development programs. Ensure 50% of revenues collected from real property tax are disbursed to counties for development, in line with the Local Government Act of 2018
