Monrovia, Liberia- November 8, 2025- The Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) is taking bold steps to modernize its operations and enhance revenue collection through digital transformation.

At the ongoing Strategic IT Retreat in Margibi, Deputy Commissioner General for Administrative Affairs, Samuel Bennett, Jr., emphasized that the LRA is committed to fully automating and digitizing its tax and revenue system.

Bennett, an IT professional himself, assured that the upcoming budget will prioritize IT investment, ensuring that the Management Information Systems Division (MISD) receives the necessary equipment and infrastructure to drive this transformation.

“We will ensure you get the equipment and infrastructure you need. MISD needs investment to boost revenue collection,” he said.

The LRA’s Strategic IT Retreat aims to assess progress, close gaps, and craft a Digital Transformation Strategy for 2026-2029. The strategy will focus on modernizing systems, securing data, enhancing taxpayer services, and positioning the LRA to become a fully digital, data-driven, and intelligent tax administration by 2030.

The retreat brings together strategic staff from various departments, including Risk, General Services, Procurement, Budget and Finance, Taxpayer Services, Communication, Audit, and HR.

This collaborative approach underscores the LRA’s commitment to a comprehensive digital transformation that will benefit the entire organization.

By embracing digital transformation, the LRA is poised to enhance revenue collection, improve taxpayer services, and contribute to Liberia’s economic growth.

As the authority moves towards a more digital and data-driven future, it is well-positioned to achieve its goal of becoming a modern and efficient tax administration.
