Kpandewowai Town, Kolahun District| Dec. 21, 2025 |In a tragic incident in the town of Kpandewowai in Kolahun District, a man identified as Patrick Korhena, 45, lost his life while cutting down trees in his cocoa garden. The incident, which occurred on Saturday, December 20, 2025 has left the community in utter shock and complete bewilderment.

Eyewitnesses to the incident, revealed that Korhena had ventured into his cocoa garden to cut down some trees that were obstructing the growth of his crops. Despite allegations that he was felling palm trees, it was clarified that he was actually cutting down other trees attached to the palms. During the process, one of the trees fell unexpectedly and struck him, leading to his untimely demise.

A jury comprising fifteen men was assembled to investigate the circumstances surrounding Korhena’s death. The head of the jury, Samuel N. Jallah, confirmed that there was no foul play involved and concluded that the tragic incident was a result of the tree falling on the deceased.

The grief-stricken widow, Madam Sangai Patrick, tearfully recounted how her husband had gone to a nearby town for a gathering the previous night and had returned home only to head to the cocoa farm the following day. The sudden loss of her partner has left the family and community members in mourning.

Following the completion of the jury’s findings, Korhena’s body was released to his family for burial, while the police continue their investigation into the incident. The sudden deaths in the town, including this latest tragedy, have sparked fear and concern among the residents.

In the interim, the authorities have initiated further investigations and are working to implement measures to prevent similar incidents from occurring in Kpandewowai town. The series of unfortunate events, including the recent deaths of Mbowai Fatu in a motorbike accident, Korubah Salay at the creek, Jenneh Easy from a tree accident, and Amos Korholo under suspicious circumstances, have led to calls for divine intervention and community vigilance.

As the town mourn, the loss of Patrick Korhena, they hope for answers and solutions to prevent such tragedies from repeating in the future.
