    MoJ conducts 5-Day Training on Gender Mainstreaming and policy in Grand Gedeh County

    Zwedru, Grand Gedeh-Monday, June 9, 2025-The ministry of Justice is conducting a 5- day training on gender mainstreaming and policy action plan for personnel of the ministry of Justice in the south-east.

    The training started on Tuesday June 3, 2025 at the Zwedru City Hall and ended on last Saturday June 7, 2025.

    The training was held under the objective: Gender mainstreaming and a gender perspective must be mainstreamed into all development policies and programs to achieve true equality.

    The training derived from MOJ policy and five years action plan for Gender and social inclusion unit.

    Reading the overview of the training the Director of MOJ gender and social inclusion unit (GSIU) Director Maude M. Somah said the project is a five years gender policy action plan for the visibility of gender issues achievements and security sector.

    She further stressed on the important of Gender sensitivity in the ministry of Justice to enable better cooperation.

    The training drew participants from River Gee, Maryland, Grand Kru, and Grand Gedeh counties specifically from the angle of Ministry of Justice which comprises of Liberia immigration officers, Liberia National police, National Palace of Corrections Officers, Liberia Fire Service, Women and children protection officers among others.

    In the gathering the Director, Mrs. Somah of Gender and Social Inclusion Unit further encouraged female to take advantage and qualify themselves for greater job opportunities ahead.

    She said the reason why gender is not balance in the ministry of Justice and in many work places is because many female are not taking advantage to upgrade their lives educationally but only feel that they belong in the kitchen.
