    NRF Donates Road Maintenance Tools to Ministry of Internal Affairs in Maryland County

    Monrovia, Liberia- Sunday, October 12, 2025- The National Road Fund (NRF) has donated road maintenance tools and equipment to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) in Maryland County.

    The donation aims to support the Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) Program, which focuses on road maintenance and roadside brushing activities.

    The donation included 50 cutlasses, 5 rakes, 30 wheelbarrows, 53 pairs of safety rain boots, 50 pairs of hand gloves, 53 safety vests, 10 road signs, 2 motorbikes and 1 signboard.

    Road maintenance equipment +logistics donated to Maryland County jointly by NRF and the MIA respectively.

    The Assistant Minister for Technical Services, Mr. Orondo F. Armah, emphasized that the initiative aims to decentralize road maintenance activities and encourage local ownership.

    Assistant Minister Armah reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to working with local authorities and community groups to maintain Liberia’s growing road network.

    Meanwhile, Superintendent Henry Cole expressed gratitude to the NRF and MIA for the donation, assuring that the items would be properly utilized to improve road connectivity and accessibility in Maryland County.

    NRF’s Chief Administrative Officer, Mr. John H. Tokpah, Jr., reconfirmed the institution’s commitment to supporting the government’s efforts in sustaining Liberia’s road infrastructure through community participation.

    The Community-Based Organizations Program is a collaborative initiative between the MIA and NRF designed to promote community involvement in road maintenance across Liberia’s 15 counties.
