Barclayville City, Grand Kru County |May 9, 2026 | Senator Albert Tugbe Chie has fulfilled another major commitment to the people of Grand Kru County with the official dedication and turnover of a newly constructed fully furnished six-room guest house to the Kplio Community in Topoh, Barclayville District.
The handover ceremony, held on Friday, May 8, 2026, brought together residents, traditional leaders, local officials, and community stakeholders who praised the Senator for honoring a promise made during the 2023 electoral campaign.
Presenting the keys on behalf of Senator Chie, lead project engineer Kemokai Sherman disclosed that the entire project was personally funded by the Senator at a cost exceeding US$75,000

“This project represents Senator Chie’s commitment to improving community infrastructure and responding directly to the needs of the people,” Sherman told local media during the ceremony.
Traditional leaders, chiefs, women, and youth groups of the Kplio Traditional Community lauded Senator Chie for what they described as a timely and transformative gesture, praising his continued commitment to community development and fulfillment of promises made to the people.
Speaking during the dedication ceremony, several community representatives commended the Senator for investing in projects that directly impact the lives of ordinary citizens, noting that the newly constructed guest house will benefit both present and future generations across the Kplio Traditional Community.
The leaders further described Senator Chie as a “man of his word” whose developmental interventions continue to bring hope and unity to communities across Grand Kru County.
Women and youth representatives also expressed appreciation for the initiative, emphasizing that the facility will create opportunities for community engagement, meetings, and the hosting of important visitors and development partners.
Community leaders of the Kplio Traditional Community described Senator Chie as the county’s “political godfather” and popularly referred to him as “Talk and Do” — a nickname earned through his record of completed development projects across the county.
Residents noted that the facility will also serve as a unification center for the four Kplio traditional sections including Fleneken, Gblakpo, Topoh, and Suehn. Representatives from the four communities are expected to jointly manage the guest house.
The project adds to a growing list of development initiatives undertaken by Senator Chie throughout Grand Kru County, reinforcing his commitment to local infrastructure development and community empowerment.
The guest house will enhance accommodation opportunities for official visitors and contribute to ongoing development efforts within the region.
