Greenville City, Sinoe County |May 13, 2026 |Residents across Sinoe County are calling for stronger development efforts as stakeholders and community leaders push for better coordination to improve living conditions in the county. The concerns of local communities were at the center of discussions during the first County Development Steering Committee (CDSC) Coordination Meeting held Tuesday in Greenville.
The gathering brought together government institutions, civil society groups, humanitarian organizations, and development partners to discuss ways to improve services for residents.
Speaking at the meeting, Sinoe County Superintendent Alexander Nah Sleweon said development efforts must focus on improving the wellbeing of ordinary citizens across the county.
“As Chairperson of the County Development Steering Committee, I am pleased to convene this important gathering of stakeholders committed to improving the lives and wellbeing of the people of Sinoe County,” Sleweon said.
He noted that communities in Sinoe continue to face serious challenges in road connectivity, healthcare, education, sanitation, agriculture, youth empowerment, and security, adding that stronger collaboration is needed to address those issues.
According to him, development cannot happen effectively when institutions operate separately without coordination. He urged organizations working in the county to communicate regularly and align their activities with community priorities.
“It is important that we avoid duplication of efforts and instead focus on complementing one another’s work to ensure that development interventions reach the people who need them most,” Sleweon stated.
Participants at the meeting emphasized that many communities still lack access to basic services and development opportunities. Improving transparency, accountability, and information sharing among institutions would help projects reach underserved areas more effectively,” they said.
The meeting also reviewed ongoing development activities, identified implementation gaps, and explored ways to strengthen partnerships that can improve service delivery throughout Sinoe County.
Youth groups, women representatives, farmers’ organizations, humanitarian agencies, and public institutions all contributed to discussions focused on community growth. Encouraging participants to remain solution-oriented, Sleweon urged stakeholders to use the platform to promote innovation and cooperation that can improve the lives of residents across Sinoe County.
“Let us use this platform not only to discuss challenges, but also to identify opportunities for stronger collaboration and innovation that will advance the development aspirations of our county,” he said.
