In a bid to regain the lost image of the St. Francis Hospital, the River Cess County Health Team (RCHT) has apologized to citizens for acts deemed unprofessional.
The apology is aimed at reaffirming the trust the referral medical facility once had in the eyes of patients and general citizenry.
Making the disclosure on Tuesday at a stakeholder meeting in Cestos, River Cess County Health Officer, Dr. Dyujay Karnga said a recent survey conducted by the RCHT established that people in the catchment area of the St. Francis Hospital preferred covering 10-20km distance to seek treatment at the Po River Clinic in Yarnee District and River Cess District Referral Hospital in Gbedia Town.
Dr. Karnga said patients spoken to said they were not going to the St. Francis Hospital to seek medical attention because of the inhumane treatment they face whenever they attend the hospital.
Dr. Karnga noted that the patients said they are always spoken to harshly or are insulted by the nurses every time they go to the St. Francis Hospital.
In addition, the River Cess County Health Officer said acts of corruption that were committed are also being investigated, and anyone found guilty will be published.
According to Dr. Karnga, there have been people at the St. Francis Hospital who have over the years demanding unlawful fees that have caused the decline of patients attending the hospital.
Meanwhile the administration of the River Cess County Health Team has called on residents of the county to begin trusting the once only Referral Hospital.
He promised that all patients attending all health facilities across the country will be given the best of treatment all humans deserve.
