FishTown, River Gee County |May 22, 2026| A tragic incident in River Gee County has led to the death of a young businesswoman, Delina Toe, leaving many residents in shock and sadness.

Family members, friends, and community residents are mourning the sudden loss of the young woman known for her hard work and business activities.

Delina Toe, a resident of Quayee Community in Fish-Town, reportedly died after a falling tree struck her in Tienpo, a well-known gold mining area near Minnesota Camp.

The incident happened during heavy rainfall on Thursday morning, 21st May, 2026.

According to reports, Delina had traveled to the mining camp to continue her small business activities while waiting for additional goods to arrive from Monrovia.

She was widely known in the area for selling clothes and locally known “kiss meat.”

Residents said she was seen on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, moving through the Quayee and Sandy communities collecting goods for sale in Tienpo.

Many community members described her as a hardworking and determined young entrepreneur.

The tragic incident reportedly happened after Delina went to retrieve a key that had mistakenly been carried to the mining field by a loved one.

Upon reaching the area, heavy rain forced her to seek temporary shelter nearby.

Reports say the person accompanying her suddenly heard the sound of a tree beginning to fall and quickly tried to pull her away from danger.

Sadly, Delina’s legs reportedly became trapped in the mud because of the rain boots she was wearing.

Witnesses said the muddy conditions made it difficult for her to move to safety in time.

The falling tree then struck her, causing severe injuries that reportedly led to her immediate death.

Following the incident, some residents initially believed she had survived. An ambulance was quickly called, and she was rushed to Fish Town Referral Hospital for emergency medical attention.

However, medical authorities at the hospital later confirmed her death after examination.

Her remains have since been taken to a funeral home along the Kanweaken–Fish Town Highway while funeral arrangements are being prepared.

The death of Delina Toe has deeply affected many people across Fish-Town and nearby communities.

Her fellow graduates from the 2023 class of Tweh Jaiklay High School are also mourning her passing and remembering her as a friendly and hardworking young woman with dreams for a better future.
