River Gee County – [April 12, 2025] -A 43-years-old Nigerian National, Frank Agbata alias Oyeigbo was, on Friday, April 11, 2025 arrested with substantial quantity of illicit substances at the Tienpo Nyunken checkpoint in River Gee County. The unlawful substances include, 27.9 grams of Kush, 1.4 kilograms of marijuana, and 31 tablets of tramadol.

Agbata has been a key trafficker of illicit substances in the Southeastern part of Liberia who has been under surveillance by agents of the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDEA). Following his arrest, LDEA Commander, Richard N. Nango told reporters that the Agency has had Agbata under surveillance for a long time, suspecting the 43-year-old of being a key player in the drug trafficking network in southeastern Liberia.

Agbata’s arrest follows a long period of surveillance and intelligence-gathering spearheaded by the LDEA, with authorities describing the Friday arrest as a major step forward in the national fight against the proliferation of narcotics.

He is currently in the custody of the LDEA undergoing intensive interrogation. Security Officers have told to our River Gee Correspondent that suspect Agebata will appear in court on Monday, 14 April 2025, to answer to multiple charges relating to drugs trafficking.
