    Bomi County Health Services Certifies Outstanding Staff, Unveils 14-Bed Emergency Room at Liberia Government Hospital

    Tubmanburg City, | Friday, Dec. 19, 2025 |Bomi County Bomi County Health Services Certifies Outstanding Staff, Unveils New 14-Bed Emergency Room at Liberia Government Hospital.

    Bomi County Health Services has taken a major step toward strengthening emergency healthcare delivery with the official certification of outstanding hospital staff and the ribbon-cutting of a newly renovated, refurbished, and remodeled 14-bed Emergency Room at the Liberia Government Hospital (LGH) in Tubmanburg.

    The dual ceremony held on Thursday, December 18, 2025 which blended recognition with renewal, celebrated five LGH staff members for their exceptional dedication, compassion, and commitment to patient care, while also commissioning a modern emergency facility designed to improve response time and patient comfort.

    Speaking on behalf of the county health team, Bomi County Health Officer (CHO) Dr. Annette Brima-Davis described the certification as both an honour and a call to action. She urged all LGH staff to view the recognition of their colleagues as motivation to continue providing quality, patient-centered care.

    “This certification is not only a reward for those honoured, but an encouragement to every staff member to serve with excellence, compassion, and professionalism,” Dr. Brima-Davis said.

    She commended Dr. Levi Korhenia, Medical Director of the Liberia Government Hospital, for his leadership and for consistently meeting expectations and extended appreciation to all hospital staff—employees and volunteers alike – for keeping healthcare services on course. Dr. Brima-Davis also challenged the entire workforce to further improve patient care as the county looked ahead to 2026.

    The highlight of the event was the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Emergency Room, led by Dr. Brima-Davis and dedicated by the Office of the Bomi County Superintendent. The upgraded ER, now equipped with 14 new beds, represents a significant improvement in emergency medical services for residents of Bomi County and beyond.

    Before the ribbon was cut, both Dr. Korhenia and Dr. Brima-Davis emphasized that the project was fully sponsored through the Liberia Government Hospital’s budgetary allocations, with support from the national government and local county authorities. They noted that the modernized ER will ease congestion and allow patients to receive care in a more accommodating and dignified environment.

    Delivering special remarks, the Office of the Bomi County Superintendent congratulated the hospital administration for what was described as a historic milestone.

    The Superintendent’s office praised the honorees for their dedication, encouraged them to continue setting high standards, and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the county health team, including advocating for increased budgetary allocations in the future.

    Following the certification ceremony, the award recipients expressed deep appreciation to the Bomi County Health Team for recognizing their work over the past 11 months of 2025.

    Though surprised by the honour, they pledged to remain committed to serving patients without complacency. They also encouraged their colleagues to remain diligent, reminding them that dedication and integrity in service never go unnoticed.

    Those certificated include Dr. Kour Geah, Mr. G. Nelson Siapha, and Mr. Advento Z. Sumo, named LGH Clinical Staff of the Year, while Artete Wragiri and Benedict Gweleh were honored as Support Staff of the Year at the Liberia Government Hospital.

    The ceremony underscored a shared commitment by county authorities and health professionals to elevate healthcare delivery in Bomi County – recognizing excellence while investing in infrastructure that saves lives.
