River Gee County – The Ministry of Health (MoH) has appointed Dr. Pauline Weah Mehdeh, a highly experienced public health professional with a strong background in healthcare management, as the new County Health Officer of River Gee, replacing Dr. Masuah T. Kokro, who was recently recalled by the MoH, following less than a year serving in that post.

The experienced public health practitioner was appointed along with Dedesco Doebia Gweh, who will now serve in the capacity of County Health Administrator, and Saah Kundufarmah, who will serve as River Gee’s new Health Team Accountant, taking over from Shem Jallayu.
Both Gweh and Kundufarmah also bring considerable experience to the River Gee County Health Team, with the three public health administrators poised to assume their roles shortly.

For half a year, the River Gee County Health Team has been functioning without a complete leadership.
This transition comes at a critical moment as Liberia faces challenges related to Mpox, which has put considerable pressure on local healthcare resources and exacerbated challenges related to how community members seek medical care.
