    GKTC President Appeals for Increased Budgetary Allocation to Support Academic Expansion

    Barclayville, Grand Kru County |Jan. 29, 2026 |The President of Grand Kru Technical College (GKTC), Dr. Sarwee Joe-Wiah Faeflen, has called for increased budgetary allocation cum support to the institution to undertake planned academic expansion and overall institutional development.

    Dr. Faeflen made the appeal during a special intercessory prayer service held at the Harvest Intercontinental Ministries Unlimited Church in Barclayville, attended by college administrators, staff, students, and church members.

    According to the GKTC President, the administration is preparing to introduce new academic programs, including Mass Communications, Religious Studies, and Nursery Education, aimed at expanding access to higher education in Grand Kru County.

     “While we appreciate the government’s continued support, increased budgetary allotment is critical if these programs are to be effectively introduced and implemented,” Dr. Faeflen stated.

    He noted that additional funding will help address key needs such as staffing, instructional materials, infrastructure, and program development.

    Dr. Faeflen reaffirmed GKTC’s commitment to transparency and sustainable growth, emphasizing that increased investment in the college will directly impact and contribute to human capacity development in Grand Kru County.

    Meanwhile, the Senior Pastor of the church, Rev. J. Tenhnecio Wiah Sr., offered prayers for the institution and encouraged wisdom, accountability, and vision in leadership.

    The program concluded with prayers and a renewed call for government, partners, and stakeholders to support the growth of Grand Kru Technical College; the county’s highest educational facility as far as education is concerned.
