Sinje, Grand Cape Mount County-Thursday, May 01, 2025 – A refresher Training of Trainers (TOT) workshop on Immunization in Practice (IIP) was held this week for district and county-level health supervisors across Grand Cape Mount County.
The workshop aimed to strengthen the technical capacity of immunization supervisors (IS). It was sponsored by the Africa Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) and implemented by the Christian Health Association of Liberia (CHAL).

The training will be cascaded to all vaccinators across the county’s 38 health facilities to ensure uniformity and effectiveness in vaccine delivery.
Following the completion of the TOT, a five-day intensive vaccination outreach campaign will commence, featuring the administration of routine antigens.

The outreach is meant to boost immunization coverage and protect communities, particularly in hard-to-reach areas, from preventable diseases. Health teams will be deployed county-wide to ensure that eligible populations are reached with life-saving vaccines.
Additionally, UNICEF, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, is supporting a three-month integrated outreach campaign across all health facilities in Grand Cape Mount County.
Beginning May 1, 2025, the extended exercise will complement the TOT and outreach efforts by expanding access to essential health services, including maternal and child health, nutrition, and immunization.
