    LNRCS Conducts Storytelling for Fundraising Workshop

    Monrovia-[March 26, 2025]-The Liberian National Red Cross Society has begun a two-day capacity building storytelling for fundraising workshop in Monrovia. Journalists, including Red Cross staff and volunteers are beneficiaries of the two-day capacity building initiative.

    The training, which is supported by the Swedish Red Cross, is intended for participants to master the art of impactful storytelling. It also aims for Journalists to tell story that will raise awareness, change minds, attract supporters, encourage donations, build partnerships and create emotional connections in the society.

    The two days capacity building training workshop is taking place at the Liberia National Red Cross society headquarters on Lynch Street, Monrovia.

    During opening remarks, Red Cross Program Manager, Christopher Olue Johnson welcome participants and outlined numerous supports the Redcross has made in the country and pledged more collaboration.

    Johnson said the Red Cross will keep striving to complement government’s efforts in responding to disasters or emergency issues in communities, noting that this is only possible with Journalists developing attractive and impactful storytelling in Red Cross chapters areas across the country.

    For his part, Liberia National Red Cross Society Communication Officer, Oniel Bestman named many challenges Community dwellers face daily, but said that such challenges can be addressed when funding are available by the national society.

    “As Humanitarian needs increase, Donor funding reduces, so, we brought you here Journalists to help us develop attractive storytelling in your communities that will amplify the needs for support mobilization, because every story count and every voice matter“. Says, Red Cross Communication Officer, Bestman.

    The Liberia National Red Cross Communication boss also thanked the Swedish Red Cross for the support and facilitation of the ongoing training.

    The training which started March 26-27, 2025 brought together 12 participants from Liberia nine Counties, including Maryland, Grand Kru, River Gee and Sinoe counties. Other countries include, Bong, Grand Bassa, River-Cess, Grand Cape Mount, and Montserrado.

    The Liberia National Red Cross Society (LNRCS) is Liberia’s largest national humanitarian organization, established in 1919 and reaffirmed in 2008, providing vital services to vulnerable people and communities, particularly during emergency or disaster periods.

    The goal of the Red Cross is to respond to the needs of vulnerable people affected by emergencies, disasters, ill-health and contextual social issues at all times and to treat them with dignity and without discrimination.
