Fissebu Town, Lofa County |May 23, 2026|Lofa County University and Change Agent Network University have signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding to establish an annex campus in Fissebu Town, Zorzor Administrative District, Lofa County.

The agreement was signed during a formal ceremony attended by community leaders, education stakeholders, government officials, and residents.

Under the agreement, Change Agent University will officially operate as an annexed campus of Lofa County University.

Residents say the new campus will help bring university education closer to students living in Zorzor, Salayea, Vahun, and nearby communities.

Many students previously had to travel long distances to access higher education opportunities.

Speaking during the ceremony, Representative Augustine B. Chiewolo of Lofa County District Five pledged full support from the Lofa County Legislative Caucus for the development and growth of the annex campus.

Representative Chiewolo described the project as a major step toward improving education and development in the county.

He said the institution would create opportunities for both current and future generations.

“This initiative reflects unity, development, and progress for our county,” Representative Chiewolo said.

He also encouraged parents to enroll their children and urged young people to take advantage of the new educational opportunities.

The lawmaker added that the annex campus could also boost economic activities in Zorzor and surrounding communities by attracting students, workers, and businesses to the area.

Chairman of the Board of Lofa County University, Rt. Rev. Dr. G. Victor Padmore, praised the initiative and said the annex would help meet the growing demand for affordable higher education in the region.

President of Lofa County University, Dr. Isaac P. Podah, said the Fissebu annex represents an investment valued at more than US$450,000.

He explained that decentralizing university services would help reduce transportation and access challenges faced by students in remote communities.

Dr. Podah also announced scholarship opportunities for students from Fissebu and Woizu communities.

Programs expected to be offered at the annex include nursing, midwifery, public health, accounting, information technology, journalism, criminal justice, agriculture, education, and political science.

University officials say the annex campus is expected to improve access to tertiary education and contribute to long-term social and economic development across Lofa County and neighboring areas.
