Banglor Konobo, District Grand Gedeh County-May 17, 2025 – Report from Grand Gedeh County says the Ministry of Education (MoE) has renovated the Diah Memorial Academy in Banglor, Konobo District.
The disclosure was made by Grand Gedeh County Education Officer, Elijah Freeman. Speaking in an interview with reporters, Freeman said the government of Liberia through the Ministry of Education carried out the exercise.
According to him, the renovation of the Diah Memorial Academy in Konobo District was aimed at providing conducive learning environment of the school.
Mr. Freeman quoted educational authorities as saying that the renovation of the school came after a thorough assessment of schools in the rural areas with plans to recondition them.

The cost of the renovation is put at USD$ 8,500.00 and JM Enterprise Incorporated was hired to carry out the renovation works. Our correspondent in the area quotes Freeman as saying residents of the area expressed thanks and appreciation to the government for the renovation of the school and promised to send their children to the school next school year. They have also pledged their support to help the government in maintaining the renovated school building.
The Grand Gedeh County education officer emphasized that prior to the renovation; Diah Memorial Academy was in a deplorable condition.
“Before we came in to renovate the school, it was found in an unpleasant situation, almost the entire roof was destroyed and the zinc was also bad off.” He described the condition of the school at the time as ‘scaring’.
