    MoH Concludes Health Outreach in Lofa with 115 Successful Surgeries

    Voinjama City, Lofa County| Sunday, Dec. 28, 2025 |The Ministry of Health, through its Outreach Unit, has completed a surgical Outreach Program in Lofa County.

    The surgical outreach started on December 22, 2025 at the Tellewoyan Hospital in Voinjama city followed by other districts including the Kolahun District (Kolahun Hospital), and Foya District (Foya Borma Hospital), bringing essential surgical services closer to communities in need in that part of the county.

    The Ministry of Health through its outreach unit in collaboration with the county health team of Lofa carried on and executed surgical operations in three districts in the county, including Voinjama District (Tellewoyan Memorial Hospital), the Kolahun District (Kolahun Hospital), and Foya District (Foya Borma Hospital) respectively.

    Citizens awaiting their time of treatment during outreach initiative.

    From all indications, the initiative brought smiles to 115 patients from three mentioned districts as they successfully underwent surgeries of different kinds and degrees.

    According to Lofa County Health Officer Dr. Moses Ujoe Weidhgar, the initiative was sponsored by his Excellency President Joseph N. Boakai through the Ministry of Health under the Stewardship of Dr. Louise M. Kpoto.

    Dr. Weidhgar disclosed that surgical patients were excited to go through the outreach in the three 3 districts and the exercise be extended in the coming months.

    “The surgical patients were in their numbers in Foya, Kolahun and Voinjama districts, so we hope that the outreach program be extended in coming months” Dr. Moses Ujoe Weidhgar Lofa County Health Officer mentioned.
