Kolahun, Gbandi Chiefdom, Lofa County—In a significant development for local law enforcement, Madam Christina Taylor has been reinstated as Police Commander of Kolahun District. Officer Taylor was suspended in September 2020 following reports of manhandling of a murder suspect in Ndawealahun town.

The reinstatement ceremony took place today, October 28, 2024 at the Kolahun Council Hall. Chief of Operations of the Lofa County’s police detachment, Harris Monger, performed the reinstatement. He praised Mada Taylor for her commitment to duty prior to her suspension in September 2020.

Commander Monger emphasized that the decision to reinstate Taylor was based on the positive impact of her past service and urged the citizens of Kolahun to put previous grievances aside and work with Madam Taylor. “Let the past be the past,” he remarked, encouraging a spirit of collaboration and unity among the community.

During her induction program, Madam Christina Taylor addressed the citizens of Kolahun, urging them to move forward and focus on collective progress for the betterment of the Chiefdom. She expressed her commitment to restoring peace and security, reinforcing her desire to work alongside the community.

She took the opportunity to clarify her stance regarding the event that led to her suspension, specifically distancing herself from any involvement in the actions against Madam Jenneh Ndebeh and others on September 25, 2020. “Although I was the commander at that time, I took full responsibility, but I was not involved in any ruthless acts,” she stated, emphasizing her dedication to ethical law enforcement.

In her speech, Taylor extended her gratitude to the citizens of Wohamba town, particularly those residing in Monrovia, for their support during her suspension. “Your faith in me has brought me back, and I am here to serve you,” she said, highlighting the strong community ties that have been pivotal in her reinstatement.

The atmosphere during the ceremony was filled with jubilations led by women in the district, showcasing their support for Taylor’s leadership. The reinstatement marks a new chapter not only for Madam Christina Taylor but also for the community of Kolahun District, as they collectively look forward to a future anchored in cooperation and mutual respect.

Officer Taylor resumes her law enforcement duty as Police Commander in a region engulfed with the trade of illicit drugs.
