Keifata Junction, Wahassa Clan, Lofa County |June 1, 2026|A boundary harmonization meeting between representatives of Vahun and Yandohun ended without an agreement after both sides failed to reach a common understanding on the disputed boundary point.

The meeting was held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Keifata Junction and was organized by the Paramount Chief of Wahassa Clan, Salia Dunor.

The gathering brought together delegates from both communities to discuss and clarify the boundary between the two areas.

Vahun was represented by a seven-member committee that included James S. Tongan, Fodie B. Kanneh, James V. Ballay, Blamasie F. Kanneh, Musa Kamara, Fomba Kawah, and Michael J. Siaffa.

The Yandohun delegation included Boakai Moinina, Lahai Swaray, Tampa Yorlay, Momoh J. Kamara, Augustin Lamin, Boakai B. Sheriff, commonly known as Pa Keifa, and Keifa Kamara.

During the meeting, Chief Dunor encouraged both groups to hold discussions and identify the exact boundary point between the two communities.

However, the discussions did not produce a final agreement. According to Blamasie F. Kanneh, who spoke on behalf of the Vahun team, delegates from Yandohun maintained that the boundary should be located between Keifata Junction and Duccor Gbondo.

The meeting reportedly became tense toward the end, leading to disagreements between the Paramount Chief of Vahun, Mohamed K. Nyallay, and Boakai Moinina of Yandohun.

Speaking after the meeting, Boakai Moinina stated that the boundary point at the bridge in Duccor Gbondo should not be challenged.

He maintained that the location remains the recognized boundary point.

In response, Chief Nyallay said the boundary established by their ancestors more than 65 years ago remains valid and should not be altered.

He added that Vahun is prepared to defend what it considers its traditional territory. Despite the disagreement, Chief Dunor said efforts to resolve the matter will continue. In an interview with Radio Vahun, he announced that another forum will soon be organized to allow both sides to continue discussions and seek a peaceful resolution to the boundary issue.
