Zwedru City, Grand Gedeh County | June 1, 2026 |A Nigerian national, Esther Asuaquo, has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment by the 7th Judicial Circuit Court in Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County, after pleading guilty to human trafficking charges.
According to court records, the case involved three Nigerian female minors who were brought to Liberia under false promises of employment opportunities.
Authorities said the children were allegedly deceived and later forced into prostitution at an illegal mining site.
The conviction is being viewed as an important step in protecting children and other vulnerable people from exploitation.
