France, Paris |June 1, 2026 |Liberia and France have continued discussions aimed at strengthening cooperation in the transport sector to support development and economic growth.
The talks took place during a high-level meeting at the French Ministry of Transport in Paris between Liberian and French officials.
Liberia was represented by Ambassador Dr. Teeko Tozay Yorlay, Sr., while the French side was represented by Joël Hamann, Diplomatic Adviser to the French Minister of Transport.
The meeting focused on building stronger partnerships between the transport institutions of both countries.
Discussions explored opportunities for cooperation in land, maritime, air, and rail transport, areas considered important for improving connectivity and supporting national development.
Both sides also discussed technical assistance, institutional partnerships, and capacity-building programs that could help strengthen Liberia’s transport sector.
Officials examined ways to attract investment and share expertise to improve transport services and infrastructure across Liberia.
The meeting also considered the possibility of an official visit to France by Liberia’s Minister of Transport to engage with French transport agencies and stakeholders.
Additionally, attention was given to Liberia’s planned engagement with HAROPA Port in Le Havre, which is expected to support discussions on port development, logistics modernization, and maritime cooperation.
The talks concluded in a spirit of cooperation and mutual respect, with both countries expressing a shared commitment to strengthening transport partnerships that can contribute to economic development and improved opportunities for citizens.
