Fish-Town, River Gee County |June 2, 2026|Judicial workers in River Gee County have been encouraged to maintain high standards of integrity, professionalism, transparency, and accountability in their daily work as they marked International Workers’ Day.
The message was delivered during an indoor program held on May 29, 2026, at the 15th Judicial Circuit Court in Fish-Town.
The event brought together judicial employees, lawyers, government officials, and other stakeholders to recognize the contributions of workers and reflect on the role of professionalism in the justice system.
Delivering the keynote address, Philip Jah emphasized that integrity remains the foundation of a strong and trusted judiciary.
Jah said judicial workers must remain impartial, transparent, and free from corruption, especially when handling matters that affect the rights and livelihoods of citizens.
“The Judiciary is one of the most important institutions in society because it determines the fate and future of individuals. Therefore, judicial actors must conduct themselves with honesty, fairness, and transparency at all times,” he stated.
He also encouraged workers to maintain positive work ethics and remain committed to serving the public.
According to him, public confidence in the justice system depends largely on the conduct and integrity of those responsible for administering justice.
Also speaking at the program, Daniel T.K. Dweh called for ethical leadership and accountability within the judiciary.
He urged judicial employees to recommit themselves to professionalism and the fair administration of justice.
Dweh stressed that the credibility of the judicial system depends on the character of those who serve within it.
He encouraged workers to continue promoting justice without fear, favor, prejudice, or compromise.
Meanwhile, Onesimus Barwon provided participants with a brief history of International Workers’ Day and highlighted the importance of recognizing workers for their contributions to national development.
Judge Barwon also called on the National Legislature to consider officially recognizing International Workers’ Day as a national holiday, noting that workers across all sectors contribute significantly to Liberia’s growth and progress.
He commended judicial workers in River Gee County for their dedication and commitment despite challenges facing the justice sector.
“As judicial workers, your service remains vital to the administration of justice and the preservation of the rule of law. Continue to uphold fairness, integrity, transparency, and accountability as you serve the people,” Judge Barwon said.
The celebration concluded with participants renewing their commitment to ethical conduct, professional excellence, and the promotion of justice.
Organizers said the event served as an important reminder that integrity and accountability remain essential to building public trust and strengthening the justice system.
