Monrovia, Liberia-Wednesday, April 17, 2025-The Inspector General of the Liberia National Police Col. Gregory Coleman has emphasized the vital role of young people in maintaining peace and democracy in Liberia.

He encouraged the youth to actively engage in peaceful dialogue and conflict resolution to foster a harmonious society void violence and lawlessness. The Inspector General highlighted the need for young people to understand their civic duties and responsibilities.

He urged them to participate in democratic processes, emphasizing that their voices and actions matter in shaping the future and destiny of the nation.

As a known institution, CEIO was recognized as a platform for intellectual exchange and dialogue that encourages critical thinking and democratic participation.

The rejuvenation of the facility serves to enhance its capacity to engage young minds in discussions on governance, peacebuilding, and community development.

Col. Coleman called on all Liberians, especially the youth to uphold the values of peace and democracy, and also stressed that it is the collective responsibility of each citizen to help nurture a stable and democratic Liberia.

IGP Coleman speaks to CEIO members during the event.

The speech underscored the importance of community involvement, collaboration, and support among various stakeholders to promote peace.

The Inspector General encouraged partnerships between the police, youth organizations, and community leaders to strengthen efforts towards a peaceful society.

Inspector General Col. Gregory O.W. Coleman’s address serves as a vital reminder of the influential role young Liberians play in the nation’s democratic journey.

“Through shared commitment and active participation, they can continue to foster an environment of peace and progress in Liberia”.
